After a lithium flashlight battery caught fire and completely damaged the interior of this lake house in Azle, TX, our team came to help. We fully gutted the space and rebuilt it from the ground up, transforming it into a modern, lake-themed home that our clients can love again.

The home features a guest wing and a primary wing separated by the main living areas — the kitchen, living room, and dining room. During the renovation, the homeowners decided to take the opportunity to add a second-floor addition above the primary suite and garage. Working closely with our design team, they refined the new floor plan, layout, and material selections. We also helped identify ways to make their home more functional and better suited to their lifestyle.

We renovated every space downstairs, making several small but impactful updates — installing wood-look tile flooring, replacing the front door, adding a new hallway closet in the guest wing, and replacing the three separate dining windows with one large picture window. In the living room, we swapped the French doors for a wide glass sliding door to open up the view of the lake. Since the roof structure was already being modified for the new addition, we extended the covered patio and poured new concrete to expand the outdoor living space. To access the addition, we added a staircase in place of an existing pantry and storage closet — minimizing layout changes while maximizing function. A decorative cabinet alcove was framed in to create a new pantry across the hallway.

We renovated the guest bathroom, giving it new, warm finishes. We installed light stained ready-made vanity cabinets, quartz countertops, and a separate storage cabinet. We changed the existing alcove tub to a walk-in shower with a beautiful green, fluted tile in the shower. We love the gold fixtures and think they are a beautiful accent! In the pool bathroom, we replaced the vanity, and tiled the entire wall behind the sink and toilet. Because this is a lake house, we love that the accent tile replicates the movement of water!
