These homeowners in Bedford knew it was time for a kitchen update. Some of the cabinets were broken, the walkways were too small, the storage space was impractical, and the kitchen felt very closed off. The space did not function very well for their family.
They started with our advanced design package and worked closely with our designers to create the perfect design. We removed the built-in pantry and the peninsual to extend the kitchen. Their island doubled in size and moved away from the sink, giving them a very comfortable walkway. The pantry was moved next to the wall oven, where our custom cabinet maker installed floor-to-ceiling built-ins with can shelves and roll-out trays. We also added painted cabinet storage to both sides of the breakfast nook, which our clients now use as beverage centers. These cabinets also have a hidden nook where their corgi, Lilly, can eat comfortably and out of the way.
These clients love the mid-century modern style and thought that it would complement the unique, square windows. With help from our in-house designer, they decided on flat front, white oak cabinets with a natural finish. The natural wood cabinets and the glass tile backsplash pair perfectly with the ocean blue quartzite countertops (which might be the most beautiful countertops we’ve ever installed). Our team also installed LVP flooring throughout the home.
